The Tombstones – “In Love with the Teacher”

Posted in Musicals by Tim J Spencer, News, The Tombstones with tags , , , , , , on October 10, 2010 by greenpandatheatre

Well, just finished a new recording of another of the songs from The Tombstones.

This one is taken from the first half and is sung to the leading man, Alex, by his mates Ritchie and Stevo who are taking the mickey about the fact that he is besotted with the teacher, the gorgeous Dr. Knightly.

I’m hoping to have the show online to purchase for January so if you’re interested in learning more about the show please drop me an email so I can keep you up to date with developments.

This version is sung by myself which, until I can persuade the boys from McFly to do me a version, will hopefully show you what this track is like.

Shows and their licensors list now 40 and counting

Our list of Musicals and their Licensors has now passed 40 and is including new names for the Am Circuit including “The Producers”. We are putting the list together on a daily basis so, obviously, it is taking a little time to get a full list. We’re presently trying to get those most popular on the list, but also are trying to track down info on several of the major shows.

Shows and their licensors list

Please keep an eye on the list as it grows, hopefully will provide everyone with the info they’re looking for, when they need it, as doesn’t seem to be too many fully inclusive lists available on the web.

Any suggestions for what ‘obvious’ shows are missing from the list please let me know and we’ll try and get them up as quickly as possible.

The Tombstones – The Girl in the Picture

Well the first peformance of The Tombstones went on on Saturday 21st August 2010 at the Stratford Civic Hall, UK. The fantastic cast from Young Rogues and Vagabonds, a youth group, did a sterling job on the show. Now full progress is going ahead with working the album and getting the show prepared as a pack available to groups so it can be performed.

The Tombstones is a “Tween Pop”┬ámusical and is best described as a cross between Little Shop of Horrors, The Munsters, Grease and High School Musical. It is a fun show with a hint towards the dark side. Just imagine what would happen if a College was built on an Old Graveyard, suppose a family of Zombies live in the Krypt below the Student Union – and we have the jumping off point for The Tombstones.

As I mentioned the album is underway and just as a sample here is the first of the tracks to be recorded. It’s recorded by the original Sophie (Amy Cate Walsh) who is the main female character in the show and is called The Girl in the Picture.

Just starting to add the shows

Over the next few weeks and months I’ll be building this site up, to include both the works and news for the Tim J Spencer musicals and the work of Green Panda Theatre but also to add the Licensing info for other major shows and the people you need to contact to license different musicals. So far I’ve added Annie and Assassins but hopefully this will be gradually building so if you’re looking to license a particular show it hopefully will have the info on here for you.
